The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Director for Levinson, Best Actor for Beatty, and Best Supporting Actor to both Keitel and Kingsley. The film has fantastic costumes, make-up, lighting, art direction, and sound. Indeed, the film won the Oscar for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.
