Based on the popular novel by S. E. Hinton, the story revolves around Rusty James (Dillon), a young and not so smart leader of a small-time gang. Rusty James lives in the shadow of his older brother, the Motorcycle Boy (Rourke), who disappeared but has now mysteriously returned. The acting performances of Dillon and Rourke are truly remarkable and memorable; indeed, all of the performances are of break out quality for Lane, Cage, and Fishburne. The black and white cinematography is hypnotic and complimented perfectly by Stewart Copland’s Golden Globe nominated score. The bleak setting of Tulsa only reinforces the film’s major themes of isolation and helplessness. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition.

This great screwball family comedy has a clever and witty screenplay by Carl Reiner and Larry Gelbart about a wife who gets bored with her home life and becomes a TV commercial superstar for “Happy Soap.” Her mildly chauvinistic pediatrician husband (Garner) hates her new career because it takes time away from him and the kids. This original Polish poster is in very good condition, with some foxing which could be corrected with restoration.

Original 70mm Roadshow title card (11×14) for the Stanley Kubrick Roman epic, SPARTACUS (1960) starring Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier, Jean Simmons, Charles Laughton, and Peter Ustinov. Stanley Kubrick replaced original director Anthony Mann, but it was really Kirk Douglas as Executive Producer who made many of the decisions. The film is a marvelous retelling of the revolt in 73 B.C. at a gladiatorial school, which mushrooms into a crisis for the Roman Empire. Opposing political factions by Olivier and Laughton try to use the revolt to further their political ends. Besides outstanding performances from the entire cast and expert direction by Kubrick, the film has beautiful cinematography by Russell Metty and a brilliant score by Alex North. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards and won five Oscars, including Best Supporting Actor to Ustinov and Best Cinematography to Metty. This title was only distributed to roadshow 70mm reserved seat engagment venues. The card is rated in very good plus condition with some edgewear and signs of age.

Original Universal Pictures Advance One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Joseph Sargent horror thriller, JAWS: THE REVENGE (1987) starring Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest, Mario Van Peebles, and Michael Caine. This is the fourth in the Jaws series and has some stunning photography and even an excellent score by Michael Small, which injects dramatic tension into many scenes. In the original film, Steven Spielberg kept shots of the shark to an absolute minimum in keep the audience from seeing the flaws in the mechanical shark. There is no such pretense in this version; indeed, Sargent keeps the camera on the shark for more than enough time to see all the flaws. According to this film, the events in JAWS 3 never occurred, and you are expected to believe that this murderous shark has followed Ellen Brody (Gary) all the way to the Bahamas for revenge. This original advance one sheet poster is folded and in very good condition—with only edge distresses, uneven folds, and some minor bleed through from a stain on the reverse side.
