Original Warner Brothers Scene Lobby Card (11×14) for the Michael Curtiz war drama, PASSAGE TO MARSEILLE (1944) starring Humphrey Bogart, Claude Rains, Michele Morgan, Sydney Greenstreet, and Peter Lorre. Many people consider this film an attempt to recapture the magic of CASABLANCA (1942); indeed, both films had many of the same cast as well as the same director, screenwriter, composer, and producer. This film is also a rousing piece of war propaganda, but has Bogart playing a French journalist framed for murder because of his political beliefs. He is sent to Devil’s Island but escapes with four comrades, who eventually wind up on a French freighter bound for home. In a great action sequence toward the end of the film, Bogart and his cohorts prevent the takeover of the ship by Nazi sympathizers. This original scene card of Bogart and other men on the deck of a ship is in very good condition with some tiny pinholes in the image area and borders.
GARDEN OF THE MOON (1938) SM19747

Original Sheet Music (9×12) for the song “The Girl Friend of the Whirling Dervish” sung in the Busby Berkeley musical comedy, GARDEN OF THE MOON (1938) starring Pat O’Brien, Margaret Lindsay, and John Payne. The plot involves a very young John Payne and his band traveling from New York to play in the ruthless and unscrupulous Pat O’Brien’s popular club in Los Angeles. This film gave Payne the kind of break that led to a seven-year contract with Fox after they saw him as the brash band leader/singer. “The Girl Friend of the Whirling Dervish” performed by Payne and his band is the most memorable song in the film, and this original sheet music is in very fine condition.
THE ENFORCER (1951) 17062

Original Belgian Poster (13×21) for the Bretaigne Windust film noir, THE ENFORCER (1951) starring Humphrey Bogart, Zero Mostel, Ted de Corsia, and Everett Sloane. The film is a perfect example of typical post-1950 film noir, which tended to be told from the point of view of the police rather than the criminal. After the first several days of filming, director Windust fell seriously ill and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Bogart asked Raoul Walsh to direct the film until Windust could return, but he was never able to return. Walsh’s directing talent raised this B film to an A status. This original Belgian poster is in fine plus condition.
BLADE RUNNER (1984) 1119

Original Warner Brothers One Sheet Poster (27×41) for the Ridley Scott science fiction masterpiece, BLADE RUNNER (1982) starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. Ford, in one of his best screen performances, plays a former Blade Runner, a cop who specializes in terminating replicants, who are human clones developed to serve in the colonies outside earth. One of the few true science fiction “art” films, Director Scott creates a future unlike any we’ve ever seen before. The film requires the audience to seriously think about the impact of technology on human society. These themes play out in a fairly basic detective story, but the ultimate power of the film comes from its stunning visual imagery of a dark futuristic cityscape. Indeed, the outstanding visual quality of the film garnered it Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects. This original one sheet poster is folded and in very fine plus condition.

With music by Ray Henderson and lyrics by Buddy G. DeSylva, Lew Brown, and Al Jolson—the song was featured in the opening credits and reprised often in the score by Al Jolson. “Sonny Boy” became the first song to sell over a million copies and eventually sold over 3 million copies. CALAMITY JANE (1953) 17053

Original Warner Brothers Belgian poster (14×22) for the David Butler musical western, CALAMITY JANE (1953) starring Doris Day and Howard Keel. In the early 1950s Hollywood had to find a way to draw audiences who were staying at home and watching TV back to the theaters, and films like CALAMITY JANE were designed to do just that. It is the biography of Indian scout Calamity Jane (Day), a butch cowgirl who gets a feminine makeover and snares her shooting buddy Wild Bill Hickok (Keel). This film is certainly one of the most successful combinations of comedy, musical, and western. It has many catchy songs sung by one of the greatest singing talents of the time, Doris Day. It was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Oscar for Best Original Song “Secret Love.” This is one of two Belgian posters and is referred to as the “Blue” style. We believe that this poster is a re-release from the 1960s. Any help further identifying the exact date would be appreciated. Please email us. Calamity Jane is perhaps the most beloved of all Doris Day musical films by her legions of fans. This original Belgian poster is unfolded and in very good condition– with some edge wear and edge damage as well as slight paper loss in the playdate area at the top of the poster.

But Belinda’s optimism is crushed when a brutish local fisherman rapes her. The film was nominated for 12 Academy Awards—including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Wyman won the Oscar for Best Actress, becoming the first actor or actress to win the award since the silent era without uttering a single word. In this thriller, Dirty Harry must foil a terrorist organization made up of disgruntled Vietnam veterans—the People’s Liberation Strike Force.
